Service Antenatal Care Labour And Birth After Birth Good Luck Return To Home Page Our Aim: We are an innovative and family orientated service, whose objective is to enable women and their families to make SAFE CHOICES about their: Caregivers, Labour, Birth, Pregnancy and Care after Birth. INDEX Who Are We? We are two teams of experienced midwives who work on call and are available for a personalised service, with continuity of care. INDEX This Service Includes: 1. Pregnancy testing 2. Advice on options of care available to you 3. L.M.C. (Lead Maternity Care) Service - MIDWIFE ONLY - That means, a midwife will follow you through your antenatal period, labour and birth, and will follow up with postnatal visits at home for two weeks after the birth. 4. Antenatal care shared with your G.P. if you require it. INDEX Antenatal Care We book you in at approximately 10-16 weeks pregnant, at home, hospital or where appropriate, in a relaxed and confidential environment. Early pregnancy classes when you are 16-20 weeks pregnant, run by physiotherapists. Ongoing antenatal follow up throughout pregnancy at the clinic with your midwife or team midwives. During this time we help you formalise a birthplan. Ante natal classes from approximately 30 weeks pregnant to help prepare you and the family for birth, and parenthood (run by the midwives with skills in this area). We encourage you to bring partner or support person. Referral to appropriate services to support you and your family. Should problems arise you will be referred to an obstetrician on call, with ongoing midwifery care. INDEX Labour And Birth Support and "Continuity Of Care" throughout your labour and birth. You will have the Obstetric Specialist , on call, for help if the need arises. INDEX After The Birth Visits in the postnatal ward to follow your progress. Post natal follow up visits when you go home, up to 14 days after the birth, or more if appropriate. We look forward to meeting with you and encourage you to call in or phone if you have any queries.
