Guideline 3 cont...

(iii) comply with the negotiated conditions of any current asset management agreement, and implement a maintenance programme to ensure that the school's buildings and facilities provide a safe, healthy learning environment for students.

Richmond School undertakes to maintain the fixed assets established by the Ministry on the school site in accordance with the provisions of the Property Occupancy Document and to the extent of the funding made available by the Ministry for that purpose.

In the setting of priorities for maintenance, health and safety factors will be considered ahead of preservation and cosmetic factors. We will attempt to prevent serious deterioration through a programme of on-going maintenance, especially to the exteriors of the buidings. A ten-year maintenance plan has been developed and it is intended that this will be revised and extended annually. As funding allows we will also endeavour to improve the overall physical environment of the school in ways which help to facilitate improved teaching and learning.

Property policies adopted by the Board include:

B1 Cleaning

B2 Property Maintenance

B3 Caretaking

B4 Use of Grounds and Buildings

The Board also has a ten-year property maintenance plan which is reviewed and up-dated annually.
